Summary
TrulyRemoteWork.com is an editorial job board. We do not require an account to read job listings. We use privacy-preserving analytics, a newsletter you opt into explicitly, and anonymous apply-click measurement. We do not sell personal data, do not run user-tracking ad networks, and do not share your email with employers.
What we collect
- Analytics — Google Analytics 4 collects standard page-view metrics (referrer, country at city granularity, device, time on page). IP addresses are anonymized by GA4 by default. Loaded off the main thread via Partytown so it cannot read your cookies or document state.
- Newsletter — when you submit your email to receive job alerts, we store your email address, the date you subscribed, and your unsubscribe token. Nothing else.
- Apply-click events — anonymous count of which job a click left from (job slug, company, category). No user identifier is attached.
- Server logs — Cloudflare logs request IP + user-agent for security and rate-limiting purposes. Logs are retained for 14 days.
We do not run third-party ad-network trackers. We do not use fingerprinting libraries. We do not load social-network embed widgets that track you across the web.
Why we collect it
- Editorial decisions — which categories to expand, which content is reaching readers.
- Quality monitoring — broken pages, slow pages, search queries with no results.
- Newsletter delivery — sending you the email digest you signed up for.
- Abuse prevention — Cloudflare-level bot mitigation and rate limiting.
Retention
- GA4 default user-data retention is 14 months.
- Newsletter records are kept until you unsubscribe; for 30 days after unsubscribe we retain the hashed email on a suppression list so we don't accidentally re-add you.
- Apply-click and view-count aggregates have no PII and are kept indefinitely.
- Cloudflare server logs are kept for 14 days.
Your rights
You can ask us at any time to:
- Tell you what personal data we hold about you (DSAR / right of access).
- Delete the personal data we hold about you (right to erasure).
- Stop sending you the newsletter (one-click unsubscribe in every email; also via email request).
- Opt out of GA4 — the easiest path is the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on.
Email privacy@trulyremotework.com for any of the above. We respond within 30 days as required by GDPR/CCPA.
Cookies
We use a small number of cookies set by Google Analytics (via Partytown). They are first-party cookies (set on trulyremotework.com), not third-party. We do not use cookies for advertising. The site sets no login cookies because there is no login.
Sub-processors
- Cloudflare — CDN, edge compute, DNS, bot protection.
- Google Analytics 4 — page-view analytics (Partytown-isolated).
- Newsletter provider — used solely to deliver opt-in emails.
These providers process data on our behalf under DPAs. We do not transfer your data to providers outside this list.
Children
TrulyRemoteWork.com is a career resource for adults. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 16. If you believe a minor has submitted data to us, contact privacy@trulyremotework.com and we'll erase it.
Changes to this policy
We may update this page as the site evolves. Substantive changes — anything that broadens what we collect or how we use it — will trigger a banner notice on the site for at least 14 days before the new policy takes effect. The "last reviewed" date above always reflects the most recent revision.
